Text for Assignment 2
The Vitra Retreat is a secluded sanctuary for the overworked and tired people. This retreat focuses on a full day to rejuvenate. Part of the process to feel better here is to be with others equally minded and who also seek the same outcome – to have fun.
To mention a typical day of events inside the Vitra Retreat our client begins their day by being picked up from their home where they receive a complimentary drink on the way. When they arrive they go through the reception and fill out a short questionnaire that contains all the activities possible within the Retreat, this includes what type of massage they prefer, movies they are interested in, food they like, drinks they want served to them during the day, sport activities they might like to participate in etc. Upon the completion of the short questionnaire they begin the day by having a big breakfast provided in the restaurant, afterwards the options open up as the activities of the day begin, whether this is to dive into the swimming pool, go to the spas, get involved into a recreational activity etc. The afternoon includes a 1 hour massage followed by live entertainment. Shortly when the daylight comes to an end the nightlife begins, where the bar and starlit cinema is open. Guests dine into the restaurant and choose from an al carte menu. Dessert can be eaten while watching a movie in the gold class cinema, the night ends with a fireworks display. By this time the client will feel revitalized and is chauffeured back to their homes, completing a day of the Vitra retreat.
Design:
The Vitra retreat architecture is designed to elevate the people within. By having the surroundings from inside the courtyard distorted and distinctive this will raise a sense of fantasy and pleasure by bringing attention towards the daily events rather than outside issues. The space within becomes dynamic and interesting creating diverse atmospheres depending on where people situate. Solid sand textured walls and dynamic bold shapes create a sense of playful relaxation and security.
Restaurant:
The 5 star cuisines for breakfast lunch and dinner are part of the Vitra Retreat package. Vegetarian’s and kosher meals provided.
Starlit Cinema and Recreation House:
The recreational House by day contains a squash court, table tennis and card games. At night the Recreation House changes into a night club with pool tables and live music. The Starlit Cinema is a gold class cinema where drinks and snacks are served during the movie.
Spa baths and Massage center:
Here is where the bliss of the Vitra is felt, qualified masseurs and healthy day spa facilities cure the physical aches of the guests.
Housing and Pool:
Whether clients wish to retreat into the accommodation during the day to relax together or have a swim its their option, the housing and pool is open to the guests of Vitra Retreat
